Classes & Lessons:
Bbeauty Designs provides a service to its community by offering classes on sewing and old-time couture artistry. As art continues to be a "lost art" in many schools and community education, Bbeauty Designs offers its staff of experts to teach seminars and classes striving to keep art, imagination, and creativity alive. Our classes provide individuals the ability to learn a variety of skills, share knowledge, and have fun by being with other individuals who enjoy the same. Please call for availability.
ADULT SEWING CLASSES
Class Policy: Classes are limited to 8 students with a minimum of 4 students per class. Due to the demand for classes, sign-ups will be put on a waiting list and called with the next available class. To sign-up for a class, add your name and contact information for the class you wish and pay the class fee. You will be given a supply list for the class which needs to be filled and brought to your first class session. Classes are scheduled on Mondays from 10:30-12:30 or 6:30-8:30p.m. Indicate on the sign up sheet which class time you would like to take.
Sewing Basics I
Never sewn before, or it's been a long time? Learn how to use a sewing machine, control the speed of your machine, sew straight lines, curves, and in circles with precision. 2-hour class. Fee: $25.00
Sewing Basics II
You know the basics of using the sewing machine, and you are ready to assemble a basic project. Learn how to make your very own pin cushion and thread catch bag. Class includes material. 2-hour class.
Fee: $36.00
Sewing Basics III
Learn how to use a pattern, cut fabric, and assemble a basic garment piece. Includes our Beginning Surging class including threading, functions, and using a Surger in the course of sewing a garment.
Fee: $25.00/hour for 1 hour class
$20.00/hour for more than 1 hour class
Hat Making
Learn the basics of Hat Making. Includes making a hat base, shaping, and covering. 9 hour/3 day class. Fee: $175.00
Hat Decorating
Learn the basics of Hat Decorating. Learn how to attach embellishments, veils, and flowers. 2 hour class. Fee: $45.00
Silk Painting
Learn the basics of Silk Painting. 3 hour/2 day class. Fee: $75.00
Do Your Own Thing Class (DYOT)
This is an add-on class to any of the above classes. Can include doing alterations, beadwork, various levels of garment construction, patterning, tailoring techniques, assembling a project of your choice, learning how to put in collars, zippers, buttonholes, make darts, put in sleeves or pockets. All DYOT classes are given as private lessons on a one-on-one basis.
Fee: $25.00/hour for 1 hour class

Demonstrations:
Live demonstrations are available on costuming. A Bbeauty Designs representative will come to your organization or site and give a history of victorian fashion including the interworkings of putting on layers of clothing on. Includes featurette of actually putting on a corset in front of a live audience, as well as victorian undergarments and lacing. History and explanation. $200.00++ travel to areas outside 30 minute drive time from our location. Please contact for exact quote. Customizeable demonstrations are available.
